Alyssa
I had wanted to work in the veterinary medicine field since a very young age. I got my start at a high school co-op placement and was hooked. Since then I have worked and volunteered in many different facilities, including the Toronto Wildlife Center and Fort Erie Race Track. I attended the University of Guelph to complete an Honours Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology, graduating in 2017. From there I went to the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus to complete an Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology, graduating in 2019 and became a Registered Veterinary Technician that same year.
Currently I am living in St. Catharines with my fiancé and 2 rat babies Gretchen and Spinelli.
I feel fulfilled in my career when getting to know my patients and developing a bond with them. I love the challenging technical parts of my job like taking x‑rays, lab work, and monitoring anesthesia!
